1st MIBITECH Day includes a VIVALDI presentation on BioElectrochemical CO₂ conversion
On October 17 2024, at the 1st MIBITECH Day held at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, our colleague and VIVALDI consortium partner, Paniz Izadi, presented the project’s work on bio|electrochemical CO₂ conversion through her plenary lecture "Advancing bio|electrochemical CO₂ conversion for synthesis of high-value products."
Her presentation outlined the VIVALDI approach, which focuses on the concept of electrobiorefineries that convert CO₂ into high-value products, contributing to sustainable production solutions. The event brought together around 50 researchers from the seven research groups within the UFZ’s Department of Microbial Biotechnology. The day included keynotes, presentations, and a poster session, creating an engaging environment for sharing advances across areas such as metabolic engineering, ecothermodynamics, and anaerobic microbiology.
MIBITECH Day highlighted the potential of cross-disciplinary insights to drive biotechnology forward, particularly in areas targeting sustainable processes for environmental impact. 👏
