BETA presents VIVALDI results at SETAC Europe 2025

On 11–15 May 2025, the 35th Annual Meeting of SETAC Europe took place in Vienna, Austria, under the theme “Innovation for Tomorrow: Progress in Safe and Sustainable Concepts.” The conference focused on advancing Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches across environmental and industrial research.

BETA Technological Center represented the VIVALDI project with a presentation on the life-cycle assessment (LCA) of itaconic acid production using genetically modified strains. The work was developed in collaboration with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and Processium.

Dianella Garro presented the LCA results, while Jorge Senán Salinas chaired a session on Prospective LCA for safe and sustainable innovations.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and promote international collaboration in support of sustainability and innovation in the bioeconomy.
