New study on bioelectrochemical ammonium recovery from wastewater published on the Chemical Engineering Journal

Congratulations to our partners from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB): Mariella Galeano López, Albert Guisasola Canudas, Mira Sulonen, Zainab Ul Kausar, Mireia Baeza Labat and Juan Antonio Baeza, who are the authors of the scientific paper "Bioelectrochemical ammonium recovery from wastewater: A review" recently published on the Chemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier).

The study describes the fundamentals and opportunities for bioelectrochemical ammonia recovery, an alternative solution for traditional ammonia recovery with lower energy demand, in different devices (such as microbial fuel cells, microbial electrolysis cells, microbial desalination cells and bioelectroconcentration cells), and compares the performance of all the reported experimental works so far.
