VITO Presents VIVALDI Research at the Conference on Carbon Capture & Utilization

At the Conference on Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU), organised by the Swedish Consortium for Artificial Photosynthesis, VITO's Senior Scientist Deepak Pant presented research originating from VIVALDI and continued within the Fuels-C initiative.

Deepak’s presentation, titled “Overcoming the Stability Challenge: Metal-Based Gas Diffusion Electrodes for Long-term CO₂ Electroreduction,” highlighted progress made in developing more durable and efficient technologies for converting CO₂ into valuable products. These results stem from the recently concluded VIVALDI project and demonstrate how the knowledge generated within VIVALDI continues to feed ongoing European research efforts.

In addition to the scientific sessions, the event offered opportunities for valuable exchanges and inspiration. Deepak visited the XPS Nobel Prize exhibition dedicated to Kai Siegbahn at Uppsala University and explored developments at Copper Lavender, gaining insights into emerging approaches across the CO₂ utilisation landscape.

We extend our thanks to the organisers for an excellent event and for the invitation to share the outcomes of our collaborative research.
