VIVALDI research on yeast fermentation published on “Biotechnology for Biofuels and Bioproducts”
A new scientific paper sharing VIVALDI results in yeast fermentation has been published on Springer Link's Biotechnology for Biofuels and Bioproducts!
In the article, Manja Mølgaard Severinsen, together with Simone Bachleitner, Viola Modenese, Özge Ata and Diethard Mattanovich, showcase the potential of Komagataella phaffii as a production platform for itaconic acid using methanol as the carbon source. The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) team developed in the VIVALDI project efficient yeast strains to produce itaconic acid from methanol, and carefully developed a fermentation process yielding >50 g/L.
