VIVALDI Results Presented at the II Congress of Sustainability and Circular Economy

In May 2026, VIVALDI partner BETA Technological Center participated in the II Congress of Sustainability and Circular Economy (CSIC), where Jorge Senan Salinas presented research carried out within the project. The presentation showcased work led by Daniela Garro on prospective Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analyses of fermentation technologies developed by project partners BOKU and Processium.

The session highlighted how prospective sustainability and economic assessments can support the design and scale-up of innovative fermentation processes using genetically modified bacteria. By evaluating environmental and economic performance from the early stages of technology development, these methodologies help guide decision-making towards more sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

The congress also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the future of circular bioeconomy strategies, public-private collaboration, artificial intelligence, and technology transfer within the Spanish innovation ecosystem.

The continued dissemination of VIVALDI's outcomes demonstrates the lasting relevance of the project's work in advancing sustainable bioprocesses and supporting Europe's transition towards a circular and resource-efficient economy.

We congratulate Daniela Garro and the BETA Technological Center team for their contribution and for continuing to promote the impact of VIVALDI beyond the project's lifetime.
