VIVALDI results showcased at Metabolic Engineering Congress 16
From 15–19 June 2025, the 16th edition of the Metabolic Engineering Congress (ME16) took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. This leading international conference gathered the global metabolic engineering community to share cutting-edge research, foster collaboration, and discuss the latest advances in the field.
A poster, presented by Enrique Vázquez Pereira, showcased the Univerisitat Autonoma de Barcelona team's most recent publications led by Sílvia Àvila Cabré, PhD, and Albert Fina Romero, PhD, under the supervision of Professors Pau Ferrer and Joan Albiol. The contribution, developed in part within the framework of the VIVALDI project, summarised the group’s work on the production of 3-hydroxypropionic acid (3HP) in the methylotrophic yeast Komagataella phaffii. 3HP is a valuable platform chemical with a wide range of industrial applications, and the work presented contributes to advancing sustainable alternatives in the bio-based economy.
