On 20 May 2025, the VIVALDI project hosted its final webinar, “LCA of Emerging Biotechnological Carbon Capture and Utilisation Technologies,” concluding a series of events dedicated to exploring sustainability in Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies.
The webinar focused on how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) can be applied from the early stages of technological development to guide innovation toward sustainable outcomes. Discussions addressed the use of LCA at low Technology Readiness Levels, environmental trade-offs, and the need for harmonised methodologies.
Contributions were made by Jorge Senán Salinas (BETA Technological Center), Anna Petit Boix and Juan Antonio Baeza (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and Stefan Kelnberger (DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V).
The recording and presentation slides are now available.
The VIVALDI consortium thanks all speakers and attendees for their active participation in this final public event.
